The System

Jeriko House is based on a sophisticated high-tech 'kit-of-parts' building system providing high strength and incredible ease of assembly with an infinite potential for variation and customization. The heart of this system is its unique high-performance aluminum framing derived from the 'T-slot' framing commonly used in industrial automation applications. Made from aerospace-grade aluminum formed into precision shaped 'profiles' offering the approximate strength of steel with a great savings in weight, the Jeriko House frame structure is resilient, weatherproof, rustproof, and pest-proof. Frames are non-flammable, non-magnetic, present no RF interference as with steel, and need no additional protection. Paint and polymer-free, they are naturally non-toxic, emitting no annoying odors or potentially hazardous chemical out-gassing. Colors can be pre-applied through resilient chemical-free anodized coatings that will last a lifetime with no maintenance in even the harshest climates. The frames can be covered by overlay fascia including wood and other materials or hidden entirely by siding and wall panels.

Using special modular connectors, the Jeriko House frame is assembled in a classic post & beam structure. . Houses as small as 240 square feet and larger than 6,000 square feet can be built. These unit shapes can be combined in a variety of ways. Owing to its combination of flexibility and high-strength, frames are seismic resistant and hurricane resistant. The frames can be mounted on a great variety of foundations, from conventional curtain wall foundations to slabs, piers, or rails, thus accommodating most any terrain of soil conditions. Many roofing profiles are possible, from the Modernist flat roof, the contemporary shed roof, to the more traditional pitched or hip roofs. With the advent of new materials, new roofing systems have become available such as tension integrated solar roofing and roofs based on tensioned architectural fabrics. more »
